We have no interest in selling you a new system. We have every interest in you not calling again in six months about the same problem.
Worth repairing
When the system is still sound
- ✓The tank is under 8 years old with no rust at the base
- ✓The fault is in a wear part — element, anode, thermostat or gasket
- ✓The collectors are intact and the glazing isn't clouded
- ✓The repair costs less than a third of a new system
Better to replace
When a repair only postpones it
- •The tank is over 12 years old, or already leaking from the body itself
- •You've had the same repair more than twice in two years
- •The collector is cracked or the insulation has crumbled — efficiency has collapsed
- •The household has grown and the capacity is too small anyway

Questions from the roof
How long does a typical repair take?
Replacing a heating element or an anode takes about an hour. A collector, about two. A full system installation is half a working day.
Is the diagnosis really free?
Yes, within our service area. We go up to the roof, check all five components and give you a price. If you decide not to go ahead, there's no charge.
Can you install in a shared building?
Absolutely — most of our work is on shared rooftops. All we need is safe roof access; coordinating with the building committee can be left to us.
What about winter and cloudy days?
A healthy system delivers hot water on most winter days too. If you're switching on the electricity every day in January, something in the components isn't working.
